Re: Tokyo Gore Police

I searched for 20 minutes and could only find that one reference of a DVD and one reviewer who mentioned a video tape. Not even a search among Yesasia's sold out items came up with any result.

Damn. That sucks. I kind of want to see it now. I just posted the question to Don over at his facebook page just in case. Oh, and thanks for taking the time and searching around!

Re: Tokyo Gore Police

They definitely only released the first one. I believe their website lists all their releases, even the OOP ones, if you want to check back, but I can guarantee that's incorrect. I'd have it if it existed!

I would like to see EDT3, though. Might have to give 2 another shot. I didn't like it that much on my first watch, but all the love you guys have given it here makes me think that maybe I was missing something. Perhaps knowing what to expect will help me enjoy it more?

Oh, I was pretty sure myself.

I can't count how many times I've looked through the Synapse website both the new one and the classic old one (with the always entertaining sporadic updates). I just had to ask Don just to be sure or to find out if they were offered it at any time. Hence, the rumor. In any case Don confirmed they haven't released it and they were never offered it.

Perhaps. It seem to remember liking it fairly well on the initial viewing but I can't remember if it grew on me in between the two initial viewings or during the second viewing. In any account this might have changed now, I haven't seen the films in several years now.

From what I remember it's very slow moving and I'm very partial to slooow movies so i suppose that's one of the main reasons I like it. The confrontation at the end is amazing I think and a good contrast to the slow build up. I'd give it another try if I were you.

I bought the DVDs around the time they were released and I've checked the transfers and such but I haven't watched the films since sometime in the late nineties I believe. Probably because I watched them so many times back then. I have to say this thread has gotten me interested in revisiting them again. Now I only wish I had the third one as well.

Well, often it's the little things like in which order you watch films the first time 'round. I got hold of #2 first and it was years before I got #1 and it just seemed like the lesser film. Also, they are two very different films, kinda giallo vs. splatter, so if one expects a sequel to be along the lines of the original they would surely get disappointed by a sequel which is so different to the original as EVIL DEAD TRAP 2 is to EDT.

And if anybody has any info of a EDT3 release, dvd/vhs/vcd, please let us know about it. Cheers.

haha, nice one Jack! In keeping with the traditional Denmark-Norway bickering for fun mode. Funny thing is, I am part Danish. I have several relatives both on Fyn and in Copenhagen.

I admit it may not have come across very well but it was actually a way of making you say "I wish I were like you, Jack". It wasn't an attempt at a Danish-Norwegian joke as I really despise all of that. Ol'e Patrick B. used to bring out all those silly jokes and I was always like: cut it out, not funny. It's something that belongs to the 70s and let's bury it there. Heja Norge!

RE: EVIL DEAD TRAP 3

VSOM released a subbed bootleg many years ago.....I used to have it.....UNWATCHABLE (no surprise there for VSOM!!)

Later, I managed to get a LASERDISC rip to DVD where someone had ripped the subs and it was VERY good quality....

Like the previous entries NO real relation to teh plots of the first two and this is more of a police procedural / mystery /thriller type movie and NOT gory (much) or strange like the first two....but I seem to rememebr thinking it was ok...

Re: Tokyo Gore Police

You beat me to mentioning that VSoM have it. I found it earlier today but maybe they've got a new print cos they call it an A+ copy.

I was merely teasing you. I don't think anyone finds those jokes particularly funny anymore.

Haha...they probably got a hold of the same LASERDISC- rip- with- added -subs that i have by now....and sell THAT one now!!.

The copy I originally got of thiers a LONG time ago would only be A+ if the video quality was assessed by a guy with EXTREMELY bad eyesight!!

EDIT....Looks like I was right!!!
